Klein's Holiday in Hastings
Klein sat in a cafe in Hastings. Before her was set a plate of fish and chips. They were very greasy. This was not going to do anything for her figure. Once she got back to work, she was going to have to go on a long diet.
Taking holidays by the seaside and eating fish and chips. What would her German parents have said?
Face it, Dr Klein, you're British, Klein thought to herself. You've lived in this country all your life, you hardly sound German and you watch the Queen's speech on Christmas day. You're an Englishwoman.
Yet in the back of her mind, Klein could never shake off the feeling that something about her life was not quite right, t
As they walked through the forest, Klein asked the Doctor what planet they were on.
"Knuhm," he replied.
"Knuhm? Is that not the name of the Egyptian deity whose temple we visited in ancient Egypt, in Elephantine?"
"Indeed, Klein. Having exhausted all the Roman gods, humans went on to name planets after Egyptian gods. The original inhabitants are all extinct, so what they called it, no one can say."
Klein's memory of ancient Egypt was a little foggy. "I remember entering the temple, but I can't remember anything after that."
"Yes, you were badly affected by race memories. An effect of encountering beings from your primordial past," said
Klein crept out of bed and tiptoed down the TARDIS corridor, barefoot and in her nightdress. The lights of the TARDIS were dimmed. Time was meaningless inside the ship, yet it had its own artificial cycle of day and night.
Silently, Klein entered the console room.
At last, she had the controls all to herself. She had watched the Doctor so closely. She had seen him guide its journeys countless times. Every move he made, every switch he pushed had not gone unobserved.
Now was her chance to recapture her destiny. She worked the coordinates into the machine, setting it for 1940s Germany. If she could get back to the Third Reich, she could hand
After viewing the Ice Caves of Vomoth, the Doctor decided it was definitely time for a warm cup of tea. The Ice Caves of Vomoth were one of the great wonders of the universe. He had been keen to see them, especially as one of these days he was expecting Morgaine the Sunkiller to imprison him in the ice caves of her world for all eternity. He might as well get used to that sort of thing.
As the Doctor brewed some tea, he heard Klein pad in softly in her slippers. "You must have heard the kettle, Klein," he said and produced a cup for her.
Klein had changed out of her arctic weather gear and was wearing her usual TARDIS uniform of wool skirt

Torvold was a planet of gentle rolling hills and green grasslands, decorated by tiny, but colourful flowers. It was in short, the perfect place for a picnic.
The Doctor had packed a massive hamper and spread its contents on a picnic blanket- ham, sardine sandwiches, pork pie, pickles, cheeses and cakes.
Wearing a floral dress, Klein sat on the blanket. She had removed her shoes and had curled up her bare feet under her. The Doctor sat cross-legged on the other side of the blanket.
Klein eyed the Doctor's two-tone brogues.
"Herr Doctor, I would point out that we are eating off this blanket. I suggest you either remove your feet or remove y
The Doctor had returned to the TARDIS, leaving her to enjoy the solitude of beach.
Klein felt deliciously cool in her light summer dress. The sun was still warm as afternoon turned to evening, but the ocean breeze was cool and refreshing. She had dispensed with her sandals and walked barefoot, feeling the fine green sand between her toes.
The scene was so beautiful. The green-sanded beach seemed to stretch for miles, framed by shiny green cliffs. The sea was golden, reflecting the magnificent golden sky above. Here and there, peculiarly shaped green rock formations jutted out of the golden waters, the waves lapping around them. Strange bird

The Doctor busied himself making a pot of tea. In the complexity of his machinations, the simple task of making tea was always a great relief.
Klein entered the room. Things were rapidly about to become more complex. They always were when she was around.
Klein wore a cardigan and wool skirt. As she usually did in the TARDIS, she was wearing her slippers. For a moment, the Doctor was reminded of his old companion, Barbara. Like all his fellow travellers, Klein had spent time rummaging in the vast wardrobe on the TARDIS. She tended to pick out very conservative outfits. The Doctor wondered how he would interact with Klein if she were in the h

Klein at the Feast of the Gods
The Doctor and Klein sat at the breakfast table in the TARDIS. Klein was in her dressing gown and slippers. The Doctor wore his linen safari suit ('Did he ever take it off?' wondered Klein).
Klein tucked into her continental breakfast. She had absolutely no idea where the fresh croissants and orange juice came from. She had seen the food machine, but that only offered stuff that looked like marzipan. The Doctor had mentioned a kitchen, but she had never seen it and presumably the stock had to come from somewhere. There were times when she felt it was a waste of time trying to puzzle out the mysteries of the Doctor's bizarre lifestyle. Nevert

A Roman Holiday With Klein
It was a beautiful warm morning. The Doctor sat outside the Roman villa in which he and Klein were staying. In the complexities of his dealings and schemes, it was so precious to take a rare moment to rest and simply enjoy the sunshine in the gorgeous landscape of Italy.
Klein had kicked off her sandals and reclined on a couch in the sun. She was dressed in a long Roman tunic. The TARDIS carried several. His old companions Vicki and Barbara had worn such tunics when he had been to another Roman villa such a long time ago. Things had seemed so much lighter, so much more fun back then. He wandered about the cosmos, sometimes enjoying himself,
